Yeah...it's been a while!

Oh my!  I'm so sorry I haven't posted in so long!  One Act started taking over my life.  It's one of the most time consuming extra curricular activities one can do. Let's see, what's happened since my last post?  So much!

First, I have all but $420 earned for my trip!  If you are interested in donating more or purchasing some tickets for 1/4 a beef (see post: "To warm words on a cold day. ~Irish toast~"), then contact me via Facebook or Email, please. =)

Over spring break I had two projects that I had to complete and journal about.  First, live out of a suitcase for exactly one week. Second, wash jeans and khakis by hand and see which dries faster.  The first went pretty well and considering that I waas on vacation for about half of that week (San Antonio and Fredericksburg), it was actually pretty easy.  The second one was pretty much the same.  The khakis dried way faster!

We got our travel shirts in!  They're awesome!  Here's a pic!

Isn't that awesome?

Well, that's all I can think of for now.  I'm sure there's more, of course, I just can't think of it!

British English Words of the Day:

To warm words on a cold day. ~Irish toast~

Well, it's coming right up!  Not really, but still.

I just wanted to update a little more on my blog.  In the past few days, I've gotten almost $500 in sponsorship!  Wootwoot!  That's so great!

Also, I have three fundraisers going at the moment.  First...

I'm selling raffle tickets for $10 each for a 1/4 of a beef.  The drawing occurs on May 22, 2010 and the each winner will receive 150 -170 lbs containing all cuts: steaks, brisket, roast, hamburger meat, etc.  The approximate value of this is $350-$400  The beef is homegrown with no hormones or steroids by TNT Cattle.  TNT Cattle will deliver the beef within 150 miles of Canyon, TX, and all other arrangements will be made as needed.  Contact me at the email address at the bottom of this post if you are interested.

Second...

I am (and have been) selling VERY cheap Coca Cola products.  The products are:

Classic Coke - $21
Coke Zero - $21
Diet Coke - $21
Sprite - $21
Dr. Pepper - $21
Diet Dr. Pepper - $21
Fanta Orange - $21
Barq's Root Beer - $21
Dasani - $21
Powerade Mountain Blast - $22
Powerade Fruit Punch - $22
Powerade Lemon Lime - $22
Minute Maid Lemonade - $21

Each package has 24 20 oz. bottles.  People, these prices are cheaper than Sam's.  You know that's saying something.

Finally...

I'm selling Sonic Discount Cards for $5 dollars each.  The discounts are...

Buy Sonic Burger, get one free
$1.99 Wacky Pack
$.99 Iced Latte
Buy 1 Chili-cheese Coney, get one free
Buy 1 sundae, get one free
$.99 Breakfast Burrito
$.99 Route 44 Soft Drink

These cards, if fully used, save you approximately $7.50

I just realized this is a realllllllllllllllllllly long post. =)

Information about My Trip

Why, hello, there!  =)  As my first post I thought I would give you all a quick overview of what this is.

This is a blog about essentially everything that happens leading up to my trip, during my trip, and even after my trip.

I will be attending the People to People Student Ambassador Program called Celtic Cultures, going to all UK countries.  The trip is 19 days long (June 7, 2010 - June 25, 2010).

Itinerary highlights include...
  • Enjoy pointers from a local golf pro in the game’s home city, St. Andrews, Scotland.
  • View the breathtaking Gap of Dunloe from a horse-drawn jaunty car.
  • Enjoy a barbecue and informal games with Irish students.
  • Take the Full On challenge as you rappel down a castle wall under the guidance of professionals.
  • Train to wage war as a knight, and watch the world’s largest trebuchet (catapult) in action.
  • Hear an insider’s perspective on British government from a member of Parliament.
  • Re-create life in the Middle Ages—complete with lunch with King Henry VIII!
If you would like to take a look at the full itinerary look at this link.

I'm also gonna be testing a few things out.  Towards the end of each post, I am going to try to remember to put some stuff on the UK.  This is the first go-around, so we'll see what happens.

General Updates:
I have spent the past several days writing an essay for a $1000 scholarship which will be sent in tomorrow.  I'll post when I learn something on it.

Also, I sent over 60 sponsorship letters a few days ago and am patiently waiting for responses!  If you weren't sent one and would like one, please contact me at the address at the bottom of this post. =)

Soon, I will be working up sponsorship letters for businesses.  Of course, just contact me if you would like to be included in this.
